It was a great day. Kudos to everyone  for doing the whole tour today. My Packer fan instincts made me get to a TV set to watch the end of the game after Champion Chicken.  I enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to the next outing.

quijote  I'm not sure when Mich plans to show, but we'll be at Champion at noonish. I hope he's in contact with someone from the group, just in case, though.
We (Jesse and I) got to Champion Chicken for the two minute warning. I stopped http://www.apple.com/retail/mayfair/ there to scan this list first. Sorry we missed you, and Big Beautiful Mich had to work suddenly. Chicken was great, though! Even better: http://www.packers.com/gameday/2009/12-13/

ChuckL50 Actually Brad, all the kool kids are wearing Black and Gold this year.
Not if they're hot dogs. As most of us know, Chicago style means: tomato, onion, celery salt, peppers, pickle spear, poppy seed bun, and the green and gold, often referred to as relish and mustard. The kool kids wear black and orange if they're oompa loompas.

Why am I suddenly having trouble posting pictures?

Breakfast on a Sunday in Milwaukee usually starts with a Bloody Mary. This one was exceptional.

I couldn't agree with buffetbuster more, this is the best corned beef hash I've ever tasted!!

Brad Olson, with more than a little help from Bobbie, made bacon baklava; WOW!!!

Brad Olson poses in front of the Champion Chicken. Actually Brad here bears more than striking resemblance to Roadfooder Quijote but I was told Brad was everywhere and in every picture so it must be Brad right?

Bobbie's Er, Brad's chicken dinner. The chicken was great; very moist but not greasy. A Champion if you will.

Brad was pretty full from breakfast so he ordered an assortment of wings.

I, Brad Olson, was so full from my corned beef hash that I opted for the Junior plate. Mmmmm.

stricken_detective and Buddy Roadhouse  Brad and Brad popped for some Red Velvet Cake, wwbbd?
Sorry for the poor picture but I was getting weak at this point.

One small section of the Kavanaugh Hill Spice House.

Ruth Penzey and co-worker. Ruth is the mother of the children that founded The Spice House, and Penzey's, America's top two names in spices. Thanks Ruth, you did well.
I missed quite a bit of the other stops so hopefully someone can jump in here and fill in the blanks. It was just a great, great time, celebrating with some of the nicest people I've been fortunate to know.

Mike Brad,

After we finished our shopping at the Kav-Hill Spice House, I took the Bac-lava in for Ruth and her staff to sample.  She loved it.

Before anyone gets the chance to ask, the recipe is here.

I don't have a whole lot of useable pics. (Good catch on the red thing, X1), but will post a slideshow either shortly or tomorrow evening.

Awesome day everyone!

Glad you didn't, it was great to see you!

Brad-
Can I borrow your cloning machine?  I have a lot to do between now and Christmas?

Congrats to the Contingent on another successful event and no doubt you represented the rest of us Roadfooders well.  Great photos MFl and the one of McBob's corned beef hash is absolutely killing me this morning!

Man...that corned beef hash does look amazing! ...as does the fried chicken and the red velvet cake....and those wings!

stricken_detective, great photos...as for hosting...Picasa is good and Flickr is fantastic. How was that burek? (cheese or meat?) ...and be careful with that red velvet cake...it's almost sliding off the plate

I have started using Picassa.  I think it is incredibly easy to use.  Download their desktop version and then upload what you want with essentially one-click.

Also, you could upload to facebook and then make the photos universally available.  With FB's new privacy model, it is pretty easy to decide - down to the individual item posted, and down to the individual user - who can see what.

I have slowed down my use of flickr because of too many images being used without my permission.  Sure, it could happen on Picassa or FB, too.  But, the pool of users for Picassa is much smaller; and only my friends see my photos on FB - and since none of my friends would use my photos in a way that I would disapprove, then I am OK with that.

With FB, all you do is copy and paste the "public link" at the bottom of the page of the album (make sure you're not in one individual photo or all people will be able to see is that one photo...unless that's all you're trying to show) and anyone can see that one album, not other albums, and certainly not your page.  The most privacy you're losing is your IRL name and comments any of your FB friends have posted.

I vastly prefer Picasa over Flickr.  With Flickr, you can't flip through pictures unless you're in the slideshow mode and that can pretty clodgy sometimes.  I'd go with Picasa.

I use Flickr because I can use Flickr on anyone's computer without downloading it. Downside: I'm getting close to 200 pictures, so they'll start charging me money.

Eggs Benedict? How was the sauce? I usually get Eggs Benedict or something similar when I'm with the dog so she can help the kitchen staff clean the plate. Most restaurants allow that, but tell me to return the plate.

If I could make a suggestion, we should do this next year in Illinois when the Packer~Bear game is in Green Bay.

Brad_Olson still has 12-1/2 minutes of fame left.

Fun report.  They had a great close-up of my son shoving food into his face.  I'm relieved they didn't show Bobbi shoveling hash into mine.

Great job everyone and TMJ4. Even though I'm a new member of the Contingent (surprised they even used that word!) I think they did a good job of capturing the essence, that it focuses on socialization as well food.

X1 you looked and sounded great, couldn't tell you were sick at all! All of you did a really good job with the interviews.

I was just laughing with X1 and ChuckL50 via twitter because I was watching for Chuck and never saw him. I'm such a dweeb.

I was at a bar with a friend when the clip aired; we saw the footage, but didn't get to hear anything. It looked like a good segment, with a fun mix of Roadfooders, food, and atmosphere. My Inner Dork has a way of emerging at the most inappropriate times, so I hope my Milwaukee debut was at least passable. Looked for the clip online, but it's not up yet. In any event, it was a fun day to be remembered--I still have some roast pork from Lucky's left!
