Mini Donuts

I'm starting a new concession stand business. Do you think this is a good direction to get into where people would be interested?! And what else would go along with mini donuts to sell, thinking about stock car races as a possible venue

First of all, are you working off of a cart or a trailer? If a trailer then your options are limitless. I would serve the donuts in the morning with coffee, lattes etc. But in the afternoon I would give them something refreshing and sweet. How about strawberry (or and berry or mixture...leave it up to your imagination) shortcake in a waffle cone. Take a waffle cone, tear off a piece of shortbread or pound cake put it in the bottom to absorb the liquid and then layer it. Shortbread, berries, whipped cream and repeat until you get to the top which will be whipped cream with a few pieces of fresh berries. If you wanted to you could even add ice cream. YUM You could even use the donut pieces that you didn't use in the A.M instead of shortbread or pound cake. To make my strawberry shortcake, I cut fresh strawsberries add sugar then use a potato masher to make them a little liquidity. Just my 2 cents worth....Good luck

My opinion is since you're gearing up for the race circuit, give them something in the morning then refreshing in the afternoon. I attend several races (nascar, busch, etc) throughout the year and I know my boys. After a morning/afternoon of drinking beer and races they do not want a donut but something cool and refreshing...now that's a different story.

I setup at 40 plus events a year and have never seen the mini donuts sell that great but I don't work any arts and craft shows and I would think that would be a good venue for them.

There is a place a Pike's market in Seattle that seems to do a steady business -- in the morning, the only time I'm ever there.
