I've never even been to AL, but I saved Miss Melissa's website in my favorites in case I ever do. It looks fabulous, and cheap, too.

Never been there, but next time I am in Tuscaloosa, I will drive down to check it out. Lots of interesting things on the menu, but that caramel pie is what I am thinking about right now. Thanks for posting this!

It is likely I will not go as I never visit that neck of the woods, but what a delightful website. I especially enjoyed the recipes and history section.

    Thanks.

There isn't a picture of her on the website, but the woman who runs the place is a real cutie, too!

It's sure a different world isn't it. A little cafe in Moundsville, AL has it's own website! I was looking to see if they had smothered pork chops; they didn't.

    Dearfolk,
This little eatery is justly famous and well worth the sidetrip from Tuscaloosa. Even considering how many decent places there are in Tuscaloosa, this is a major standout.
    Reports, anyone?
Overstatedly, Ort. Carlton in Neighboring Athens, Georgia.

I just read the article on the site about the "Lane Cake". Worth the price of admission alone, and make sure you click on the recipe at the bottom. Whew!
