Mitchell's BBQ Closed - NC

Mitchell's BBQ in Wilson, NC, has been closed since April, 2005. According to the WRAL-TV web site: ...Mitchell faces multiple felony and misdemeanor tax charges. His restaurant has been closed since April, and he had a first court appearance in May. http://www.wral.com/news/4654198/detail.html I'm sorry I never had a chance to eat there. Very unfortunate that Ed Mitchell had to close. It's been reported that he plans to open another spot when he gets his obligations to the government in order. Perhaps he'll hire a professional accountant next time to avoid any future "misunderstandings."
Miss the barbecue and home cookin'.

The one time I was in Wilson, I was sorry to see that Mitchell's had closed, since I had heard how good the BBQ was. Here is hoping that he is able to open another new restaurant soon. Anyone have any updates?

from what I have heard he will being serving great q in Atlanta...nearest Federal facility.

I thought I had read that the owner of Mitchell's was out and had reopened his bbq restaurant. I drove past the place on Saturday and it is still closed. The sign in front still says Mitchell's, though.
