I would hope at least for a cleaning supply allowance. I know not even being a Moderator, when drinking my coffee and reading some posts, have to say replies too, that sometimes coffee droplets are all over the screen and keyboard. But to sit and review all. The cleaning supplies would dwindle fast.

I disagree with your thinking that the main function of a moderator is to eliminate spammers.  Pretty obvious you have no idea what a moderator does.

Almost every week there are issues that have to be addressed due to posters having disagreements that create problems that would otherwise make this forum non appetizing to current members or future members.

Currently there are four moderators that spent hours each week cleaning up the site with spammers and some consistently fueding folks to make the forum appetizing to all members.

There is no pay for the moderators and no benefits.  The moderators work for the love of this forum.  All moderators wish there was no need for them but it is plain to see for all four of us that moderation is necessary.

The moderators get no credit nor ask for it but often get a lot of criticism.  It is done purely for the advancement of the forum.  Most folks have no idea how much mail we get asking for help cleaning up some post or forums.

    Respectfully and sincerely

I think an effective moderator would be someone that has no previous experience with Roadfood.

With all the moaning and whining about how inadequate a job the moderators do and other concerns about our lack of objectivity I thought we'd have a flood of replies looking to help put this ship on the "right" course.

Gosh Tony, If not for the fact that I'm so busy removing posts and locking people out on another board I'd be happy to take the job.

GGEEEZZZZZZZ Michael, with knowing what a Mod goes through on another site, with locking people out, putting out fires, removing posts and so on, I would figure you would want to come into Roadfood for pure enjoyment. You wouldn't think a person in that position would disrespect the way things run on another site, you would think a person with those kind of credentials would be more of a help than a hinder................Bill
