Montreal Canada Breakfast

If anyone is in Montreal in the near future, I suggest that you go to Chez Cora Dejeuner on Rue de Parc for breakfast. It is a fabulous place for breakfast. The crepes are light & stuffed with fruit or sausages or cheese. [I had crepes stuffed with cream cheese and raspberry coulis and raspberries with rasperries on top & drizzled with English Cream. Heaven!] They also served fruit & cheese plates that look like sculptures, hearty omelets, and an oatmeal that comes with raisins, dates, nuts, apple pieces, and blueberries. The dining room is light and airy. The staff is friendly & totally bilingual. And, like every place else in the city, they take American money as well as Canadian & make the conversion. Jo

Ah yes, I love this place. Although they're mainly in Quebec, Cora's (as it's known in the anglophone provinces) are slowly starting to make their way across the country. There are a few in the Maritime provinces, and here in Ontario. I don't believe they've gone further west, yet. Yes, their crepes are to die for. I believe that Cora's was voted the best place for brekky in Toronto.

Far and away ... if I ever visit Montreal the VERY first place I am going for breakfast is going to be the famous Cosmos Restaurant. After seeing the documentary "Man of Greece" on the show "The View From Here" on TVO ... I knew I had to make the haj to that restaurant for breakfast someday. Here's a link with info about that venerable establishment ... http://www.montrealfood.com/restos/cosmos.html
