Poutine trip. Fries + gravy + cheese (curds) = joy. Drove all the way up 87 for 6+ hours from NYC to satisfy the craving. Here's where we tried: - Resto la Banquise - 24 hour legendary poutine stop. Poutine that eats like a meal. Had a healthy serving of beef over the fries, at various points through the epic meal I had the feeling I was eating a bowl of spaghetti bolognese where pasta was subbed out with fries. Delicious. Maybe I'll ask for that substitution at the next italian place I go. - La Belle Province - Just a fast food style chain, despite the fancy-sounding name. The poutine was pretty decent but nothing to write home about. - La Fleur - Dissapointment. Just a fast food joint serving hot dogs, burgers and poutine. Cheese was cold, though the fries were decent. - Au Pied du Cochon - the Anthony Bourdain favorite didn't disappoint. Pricey though, don't remember how much but it was north of $20 for the dish. But it had foie gras. Foie gras and fries. Check out some pictures of poutine. Cheers! Quite eager to hear everyone else's favorites north of the border.

I've never been to Montreal and would love to visit in the near future. I've had delicious Poutine in Manchester New Hampshire at Chez Vachon in the old French Canadian section of town and some not so great Poutine here in Rhode Island at Stanley's in Central Falls (they don't even use real curds and should stick to their burgers)

Nice thread. I have had great poutine in Ontario. Even the McDonald's version wasn't bad (back in the day when McD's had excellent french fries before they decided to be "healthy"). If I lived in NY, I'd drive 6+ hours for poutine. It's the best dish ever!
