Moving back to Arizona

 Well, Wasilla, Alaska has had about as much charm for me as a bull wearing rollerskates. Not my idea of fun. I will be returning to AZ in a few weeks. I will not be returning. I am looking forward to some of my favorite places to eat such as: Richardson's, Pizzeria Bianco, El Pollo Asado, Harvy's Wineburgers, and Texaz grill.

Alaska didn't deserve you----Arizona is a far, far better place to be---especially in the middle of winter anyhow.  Good luck and don't forget your sunblock.

What city in Arizona?

I have traveled Alaska several times.  I guess I have driven 1500 miles in interior Alaska.  I have been there during the summer and fall.  It was very pretty then but my guess is winters are brutal with short days or no light in northern Alaska.
 
In addition, it is a long ways from no where.
 
I have traveled much more in Arizona.  I have been there during all four seasons.  Summers are long and somewhat brutal although not much humidity and the food available is much much more diverse.  Phoenix is congested, hot, diverse and Tucson, which is further south is much cooler although not much.  If I were living in Arizona, I think I would prefer northern Arizona.  Watch out for black widow spiders and scorpions.  I saw bunches of them around my Marriott facility.

Gosh, I've always loved Alaska, all year around. The hunting and fishing are second to none. And when that's true, who cares about anything else?

  Lee, LOL Sarah doesn't spend too much time here in Wasilla. I have only met her once in the two years I have been here.
 
  Tom, I will be moving to Wickenburg. It's about 50 miles north west of Phoenix. Yes, it is hot and dusty in the summer but most people tend to stay indoors that time of year. The town has grown since my departure and I am looking forward to the warmer weather.
 
  Mr. Hoffman, yes the hunting and fishing here in AK is second to none however the weather had been dreadfull for the last few years. I don't think that we had more than 5 days in the last two years that were in the 70's

By the way, best wishes. My folks lived in Arizona for years, and my wife and I were married in Mesa. Many fond memories of the "Vally of the Sun". Best of luck and enjoy the sunshine. If I remember, the 70 you spoke of as a rare high in Alaska will now be a "cold spell" there!!

Well that's a plus for me. Thirty degrees is too warm for me, And as far as I'm concerned any time the termperature goes above 40 degrees it's a horrible heat wave.

Good luck on you relocation. I have been through Wickenburg several times making the run up (or down) US 93. I don't know how the 'sprawl' has affected that area (it's been ten years since our last trip) so I hope you find meaningful work quickly !!!

Thank you Mr Mayor for the kind thoughts and wishes. "Sprawl" hasn't made it to Wickie yet but it will. It's actually the best time to go as it is prime tourist season.
  I don't know if I will be staying there long or relocating to the D.F.W. area of Texas.
The weather hear in Wasilla has turned chilly. Only 31 degrees this morning.

Glad to see you made a sound decision. I'm sure you'll find meaningful work there. If you wind up in the restaurant business again, let us know where you'll be so we can come and sample some of your good cookin'. 
FYI - Prescott and Prescott Valley are prospering very well as is Jerome as far as the food and hospitality industry goes.

You're welcome! It's 60 miles from Wickie to Prescott but a lot of switchbacks that add to drive time.
