Mr. Roper or Mr. Furley????

I have no idea why this popped into my head today. I loved watching Three's Company. I remember watching it afterschool around 4 in the early eighties. While I loved the dialogue between Mr. and Mrs. Roper I kind of thought because he was so "mean" to his wife he was probably the "bad guy". I was always a softee for Mr. Furley. His funny faces and body language....hilarious!!

The Janet answers fall in line with the answers to the Ginger/Mary Ann question. Not to highjack the thread... And being more a 'Janet' type myself, I'm liking these answers.

I think this thread was destined to be hijacked... Early Janet with the curly hair works, but late Janet with the straight hair loses something. Cindy is a strong #2, especially when coupled with "Tank" (apparently Jenilee Harrison couldn't afford a certain undergarment...not that I'm complaining ). I saw her on an infomercial awhile back and she was wearing a checked gingham dress; she looked like a tired grown-up Dorothy who'd finally realized she was never going to get off the Kansas farm. But to answer the original question, the writers did the right thing by not trying to make Ralph Furley a reincarnation of Stanley Roper. To me the interaction between Norman Fell and Audra Lindley provided some of the best comedic moments of the show, and Don Knotts was always funny. Brad

Janet (Joyce DeWitt) was 5 years behind me at the Speedway, IN schools. I didn't know her.

I always liked Norman fell as mr. Roper. Don Knotts just did not do it for me on that show.

Straight haired Janet. Now, here's a hijack: --> Straight haired or curly haired: Mr. Brady?

OK, I confess to watching my share of Brady Bunch - I was the right age at the right time, after all. But, I never noticed that Mr. Brady's hair changed. Probably because I was too busy keeping my eyes on Greg... And to answer the original question: I liked Mr. Roper, but didn't like Mrs. Roper's constant denigrating of him. I can't help smiling whenever Don Knotts is on the screen. OK, I guess I can't answer that question after all...I miss John Ritter.

As far as the girls on the show, Janet has always been my favorite. As far as the original question, I too, as UncleVic, am a big fan of Don Knotts! I have the first 2 seasons of the Andy Griffith show on DVD, and am hoping to receive the 3rd season in a few months for a BD present. Hey- Ginny (my wife), are you paying attention?! I have most of Don Knott's movies on DVDs, and am looking forward to getting the few that I don't have!
