You're a bit further away from understanding than I thought you were.  That's okay- I can still work with that.

I actually never really wished anyone dead. At no point did I say "I wish that Brett Favre were dead.  I did ask the question "Couldn't Thomson have taken Favre with him?"   That is exactly what I wrote.  You can go up a few posts and read it again.   Use the scroll feature on the right side of the window.

I'm going to add a new concept here that should help you out.

I made the comment "tongue-in-cheek",  a term that I would think that that you have heard of before.   It's something that is said in more of a facetious or sarcastic way, and the comment is not really meant to be taken seriously.  For instance, we all should know that Bobby Thomson couldn't really take Brett Favre with him.  When someone passes away, or is about to, they really can't take a living person away with him.

Something that is said "tongue-in-cheek" is not to be taken literally.  I think that it is possible that you originally realized this, but just chose to ignore it.

Hey saps, I used to be afraid to watch The Three Stooges.  Whenever I heard Moe say "I'll Moider Somebody!" I always thought he was serious.

Ah, saps, you're doing what certain politicians have been trying to do lately -- walking back a gaffe. Personally, I like to refer to it as a side step.

"Ooh I love to dance a little side step, now they see me now they don't-
I've come and gone and, ooh I love to sweep around the wide step,
cut a little swathe and lead the people on."

        You've lost your edge.

There is no gaffe.  I said what I intended to say.  Realistically, I don't want Brett Favre dead, and it was a tongue-in-cheek comment.  End of story.  Even an idiot can tell that is wasn't a literal comment.  A couple of select people of an older demographic on this site have chosen to take it in a dfferent manner.
