Mine is a medium onion finely chopped or pulsed in a food processor, can of tomato soup, worchstershire sauce, plain yellow mustard, brown sugar, fresh garlic, and fresh ground pepper. I put about a 1/4 of it in the meatloaf ~ 2lbs with the rest of the meatloaf ingredients and top the loaf with the remainder about 20 minutes b4 it's finished.

Michael Hoffman Mine is Lawry's Brown Gravy mix. Do they have good cooking directions on the back of the package?? It's easy to screw stuff like that up without a precise step by step!! Hence I've shied away from those more advanced Fusion type sauces!!

Last time I used A-1 Steak Sauce; it was more tangy than ketchup. My boyfriend says his Mom uses brown gravy and I'd like to try that sometime.

Michael Hoffman Mine is Lawry's Brown Gravy mix. I make many things "from scratch" but this is what I make for meatloaf. It's what my family likes. I also use it when I make roast beef with Yorkshire Pudding.

I don't see what the fuss is. I thought ALL anglos made their meatloaf with a package of onion soup added to a pound of ground beef during an episode of "the Guiding Light" and removed from the oven when Daddy gets home and topped with a package of brown gravy. Isn't that the 3 ingredients or less in 30 minutes or less American standard?

I do a ketchup and BBQ sauce mix, add in a tablespoon or so of stone ground mustard, some minced sauted onion, and maybe a shot or three of hot sauce.
