My favorite drivers

I am trying to decide which is my favorite type of driver.  My list so far, in no particular order;

The guy who pulls up to a stop sign and keeps moving out more and more until you are not sure if he is going to stop or not.  (this is especialy fun with dark tinted windows)

The guy behind you at a stoplight with his hand on the horn to beep the second the light turns green.

The guy on the highway who passes you while you are on cruise control then slows down below the speed you have been set for.

I keep meeting that guy who passes and slows down right in front of you. I also have fond feelings for the driver in the left lane who cruises exactly one mph faster than the people he's "passing," thus holding up 70 vehicles right behind him.

I like the old fart who is going very slow but you don't have enough room to pass said fart,  before your exit, fartperson will be taking your exit also, only if going ridiculously slow, and the slower they go, the more certainty is realized that they are going to the exact same place your going, especially if it's a drive thru whatever, and there's no way to pass them. I never go to the kind of places frequented by old farts - got to wonder about  "old chewingthefat".

I applaud the drivers who put the brake pedal to creative uses, like on a freeway on-ramp, or going up a two-lane mountain road. How do they do it?

My favourites are the ones who pull up to a four-way stop, and, upon seeing no other cars from any other direction, wait until another car arrives from another direction so it can be their turn to drive. I cannot tell you how many times I've been stuck behind these people. What's weird is it seems to be an equal-opportunity idiocy. Not gender, not race, not age, not income level (judged purely by vehicle) makes a difference, they all do it.

yellow lights are there to tell you to hurry up its almost red.....
3 and 4 way stops are simply suggestions.....
A-holes on the horn the second it turns green, get to enjoy my brake lights for another go around.... i am not a slow or timid driver by any means, so someone honking at me really deserves the red carpet treatment

my all time favorite are the ones coming off side streets into 3 lane rush hour, and stick their nose out into the lane a foot or two... or the ones who insist on making a left across 3 lanes from a side street during rush hour

My favoritest driver of all, of course, is the one who, when the light before him turns red, breezes through it, as traffic rules are for lesser beings than himself.

...and is very vocal that red light cameras are a gross violation of his constitutional rights.

The old lady ahead of me who drives 45 in a 55 with no place to pass... and when the speed limit transitions down to 35, keeps on going 45.

What I experience a lot of in my neighborhood are two cars stopped facing in different directions in the middle of the street, having a conversation, see cars backing up behind them, and not moving until their conversation is over, no matter how long it takes.

Quasi-related... my biggest traffic issue is people walking in the street instead of the sidewalks, three or four abreast, not moving for traffic, or just walking out in the middle of the street to cross and expecting you to stop on a dime. And it's your fault for trying to drive down the street.

My favorite when I was driving a Limo in Las Angeles, stopped for the metered red lights on the on ramp to the freeway, and some jerk drives all the way to the front in the diamond lane, then cuts in front of everyone to get on the freeway with the next green light, one car per green light.

That's the train of thought I was on, too.

One of my favorites is the person that waits until after he or she has entered the turn lane to put on the directional.  By that time I'm pretty sure I know what you're going to do, Einstein.

My favorite are drivers who speed up and aim at pedestrians while they are crossing at a walk sign or designated cross walk, and then after almost hitting you (or in some cases brushing up against you) jump out of their cars (not to ask if you're ok) but threaten to "kick your a**")

Yes this has actually happened to me on more than one occasion

But the ones I hate are the ones that speed up and try to pass you on the right in a freeway exit lane even after you have signaled you are exiting.

Gotta love the people that try their best to get into, rather than avoid, an accident. They see you trying to merge onto a highway and speed up to cut you off from merging into traffic, see you turning left in front of them with more than enough time to turn and hear their engine wind up as they hit the gas. Or like my previous post, the opposite of yours, pedestrians walking into the street as if daring you to hit them.

I met my favorite driver yesterday at a toll both.  The driver must have been asking for directions or restaurants recommendations.  I sat there a good  four or five minutes.  OK,  He finally gets the answers to his 50  questions  and then  gets out his wallet and shuffles through it to give the exact bills and change.  Oh  thank goodness................oh  damn, now he  remembers that he wants a receipt!

I owned & raced my own NASCAR Modified in the northeast 3 nights a week for 15 yrs.
I felt safer on the racetrack than hauling the racecar to & from the track.

Mike , the Helms Driver, was my hero as well.  Life has never been the same since the Helms Delivery system shut down.  I would love to find one of those shrill whistles on ebay someday.
