My neat customer today! Thu, 09/23/10 6:00 PM (permalink)
Older guy and his wife, they eat, then she goes to the ladies room. he calls my waitress over and says, there's water on the floor, you need to clean it up. She say's Water? you didn't order any water, where did it come from, the guy says I pi..ed myself. She ain't happy about the task at hand, but cheerfully starts to try to clean the booth, he had flooded the booth and floor, he didn't want her to clean it while he was there, his wife finally comes back, says nothing, they leave after he goes to the mens room and somehow blockades the door so no one else can get in, 2 urinals 1 John, he comes out, pays his bill, no sorry, no thanks, no evident embarassment. He gave her a $1.40 tip in dimes.
He gets some slack for age, but the rudness on his part was over the top. What's your opinion?

When ya gotta go, Ya gotta go !
I would deny him (and her) service on their next visit, unless you're related to them ! If that's the case, I'd keep a mop handy !!

I really can't believe people.  The husband and wife are both rotten.  She should have apoligized, asked for the cleaning equipment and done the clean up job----and the tip should have been 50%.  Hope you never see them again----good riddance.
You serve some powerful medicine there CTF-----

Older guy. Incontinent. Probably totally embarrassed to think or act in any rational manner. That's a medical condition. Cut him some slack. It happens. Chances are he won't come back.

In 2005, I was operated on for Prostate Cancer, on a bag for about 10 days, wore Depends for a couple of weeks, those suckers flat take care of incontinence, therefore if the man is indeed incontinent, wear Depends or some such.

I'd have looked for the hidden camera......it looks like a set up for some stupid tv show. Other than that, I agree with the Depends comment.

My opinion - stick to posting pictures of your food and keep your incontinence stories to yourself.  Too much information.

                        The cost of doing business.

What do I think? I think the law of averages says it'll have little impact on her total tip that year. Someone else will "overtip"  - effectively, the bad comes with the good and versa vice. ;o)

When in the hospitality business, you gotta let things slide off your back, like water off a duck's arse. You can't get mad.

I am always glad to overtip to make up for the deadbeats among us.
When I see them figuring the tip with a calculator I know some poor
wait-person (notice the PC title) is about to get screwed.
