BB,
Sadly PK's closed recently.  Mrs. Kelly is a hard working lady. She said a combination of her health and the economy forced her to close.  Too bad, great place, nice people.

Welcome to Roadfood!  Thanks for the info, even it it is bad news.  Mrs. Kelly is a fine woman and I wish her nothing but the best.  PK's will be sorely missed.

Thanks, I've read the posts but never actually posted myself. I travel for work all over the country, so I find RF to be a trusted source for recs.  If you're ever in SPTG again, please try Sugar N Spice on S. Pine St.  True RF destination, retro sign and Jetson's style awning!  Great Souvlaki, Chicken Livers, Roast Beef Sandwiches and Burgers!

I remember being outside of Sugar N Spice on a Sunday and they were closed, before finding PK's for the first time.  Don't they hey have a really nice sign that looks like the old Holiday Inn signs?  Next time in Sparkle City, for sure!

We all hope you stick around and tell us about your Roadfood finds!

Sorry, been busy for a few days.  Yes that's the one, and you're right, it's closed on Sundays.  I also forgot to mention Ike's Korner Grille on Archer Street in Spartanburg.  Worthy of a RF stop for their Hamburgers and Fried Baloney sandwiches.  People also rave about their hand-cut fries, but I've never cared for them.

St. John's Cathedral - Lafayette, LA

Glad to see that you made it down to my neck of the woods! I went to school at Cathedral Carmel, which is the school right next to the Cathedral. I recently went back there to shoot a YouTube video about the cathedral. It's such a beautiful building!

I hope you come back and I hope you got a pic of the St. John's Oak in between the cathedral and the school. You can't really miss it, with it being the oldest living oak tree in the US!
