NBA Basketall Thread

Seeing that the baseball season is all but over .... I figured I'd start a basketball thread. I bet there's not to many but who's excited for opening night! The Cavs/Celtics game should be fun tonight. Who do you think will be contenders this year? I see a possible repeat of Lakers/Magic in the finals but I would love to see Lakers/Cavs. You?

I'm excited about the start. I'm excited about my hometown Portland Trailblazers with Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge locked down in long-term contracts. The Blazers have matched up well with the Lakers in the past and I'm hoping this year is the breakthrough year. San Antonio is much improved and it will be interesting to see how the off season changes play out in Orlando, Cleveland , and Boston.

Love the new look Celtics with Rasheed Wallace,The Cavs still need some help,Notice how they were all standing around waiting for LbJ to make His next move.Lakers squeaked by the Clippers barely.

LeBron was a beast though....man, those blocks are incredible. The Lakers didn't "squeak" by Kobe would never have let them loose. Artest did pretty darn good! I'm actually a huge Rasheed fan.

They'll need to get in better shape in a hurry. But yay, so far in first place.

Cavs 0-2....can someone please help King James out here a little...the man can't play all 48 minutes...can he...maybe he should. They only get in trouble when he rests for a couple minutes. I bet he'd play 48 minutes every night if coach let him.

Now that Greg Oden is out for the year, Blazer hopes have faded. And it appears that the curse of Sam Bowie lives on.

Yes sir...that is correct. Too bad, that guy has never gotten the chances he should have. I hate to say it but I don't think he's ever going to amount to what his potential was. ...now Kevin Durant, that's another story.

Greg Oden and Granville Waiters: What makes Ohio State centers look so damn old? Maybe Oden is as old as he looks and his body is just breaking down due to age.

Blazer injury woes have only gotten worse. Back-up center Joel Pryzbilla hurt his knee and is also out for the year. The toll so far, Nicholas Batun, out for year, his back-up Travis Outlaw, out for year, Starting center Greg Oden and his back-up Pryzbilla, pour for year, 6th man Rudy Fernandez out for 1 1/2 more months. Amazingly the team has won 4 of 5 after these injuries. I know it can't continue but I am enjoying the ride.

How about a Pro Wrestling thread, too? Same as the NBA.
