NC Honeymoon for BBQ fans

Hi there everyone. I just found this board, so hi and how are ya to all of you! My wife-to-be and I are both bbq fans and every year we travel with family to Holden Beach, NC. We always look for good BBQ on the way there. It was easier when we were still travelling from Knoxville, TN. But now we're coming from Massachusetts and don't know many places through VA and NC! Any advice on good places? Our honeymoon will actually be on the OBX, near to Buxton, NC. I love carolina style pulled pork, so any good locations y'all can provide would make us HAPPY travellers!

I love Pierce's Pitt in Williamsburg. And Bubba's in Frisco, near Buxton. You're staying in the right place. The southern islands of the Banks rock.

Welcome BBQ APE and the soon to be Mrs Ape. Do a search in the Where should I eat section, that might help. Also you should get a few more responses here. MikeS.

Try also the search function in the top right corner of your screen. If you search on the towns you pass through you ought to get some good ideas. Telling us the route will help. I know a bunch of good places in VA, but I'm about to go to lunch, myself, and don't want to get into a long posting. Cathy

There really aren't any good BBQ places on the outer banks. The best in eastern is Wilber's in Goldsboro, with several good ones in Greenville, Wilson, Kinston, Washington and Ayden. Iy you will respond to V960s request above, we can offer more guidance.
