Does anyone remember the GIANT ARMADILLO ads for Lone Star Beer? Would really like to see them again. Don't remember there being a jingle but the guy whose Caddie was stepped on by said Armadillo wails unforgettably (for me) "you gotta be-l-i-e-v-e me" as they take him away. Point of sale promo was a 5-6 foot tall armadillo.

I have a reel-to-reel audio tape from September of 1963. On the tape I am singing the Schaefer jingle, being prompted by my dad, who thought a beer-jingle singing two-year-old was pure comedy gold. The best I could manage was "Dayfur, is the, one beer, mumble, mumble, mumble...". It's a wonder no one called child protective services.

I still but 12-packs of Schaefer at my local A&P, but I only use it to steam shrimp, lobster and crab.

Thanks for letting me relive this fond memory - if I knew how, I'd upload this gem so you could all hear just how damn cute I was.

I remember them! "Ruby Vine just bought a million cases of electric dog polishers! Come on down to Railroad Salvage while supplies last!" Weren't they in the RI-CT area? I saw those ads in Southeastern Mass (where we got Providence TV stations), but my husband, who grew up in suburban Boston, doesn't remember ever seeing them.

Not "really" positive on this one, but.
              I believe Don-Ho snag this one for "C & H Sugar"
with some little hawaiian kids echoing him.

Late 60's early 70's or so

              C & H..."C & H"
              Pure Cane Sugar..."Pure Cane Sugar"
              From-m Hawaii..."From-m Hawaii"
Island in the sun..."Island in the Sun"
              When you bake..."When you bake"
Use C & H pure cane sugar that's the one...

                Here's one that ( I think ) goes back to the '70s:

FORRRRRRRRR... real country sausage, the best you ever tried
Pick up a pound or two of Tennessee Pride
It's real country sausage, yes indeed
And the secret of the goodness is the recipe...
Take home a package of TENNESSEE PRIDE!!  [  last line spoken instead of sung ]
