I really miss Snap, Crackle, and Pop. I wish Kellogs would bring them back.

Snap, what a happy sound

...and Smurfberry crunch is fun to eat, a Smurfy fruity breakfast treat.

It's to the tune of one of those Nutcracker songs...sleepy Rt. 11 can't think of its name.

Is Schaefer and Stroh's still made? We used to buy Schaefer's by the case, it was sooooo cheap. Each case always had one or two cans that were only half full. Can't buy either hear any longer, which, I'm pretty sure is a good thing....

We used to mix a six-pack of Schaefer with a bottle of Guinness to try to make it more like a British ale. Kids, do not attempt this at home!

Anyone remember the Teaberry Shuffle?

By none other than Herb Alpert and the Tiajuana Brass!

But I cannot for the life of me remember the Campbell's "Soup and Sandwich" lyrics (to the tune of "Love and Marriage")

Tasted like Kix but in the shape of animal crackers, but smaller I think. The song goes: "Here goes crispy critters, the good wholesome bunch. The low-sugar cereal with lots of cah-runch! They're indubitably delicious!" The commercials featured a little girl who couldn't say "indubitably"

That was later, after they changed the name, due to the bad rap on sugar. I'm sure the sugar content was the same, but the name was changed to protect Post's noble ideals. Sugar Bear was the original character. Who sang this ditty in the later ad?

I forgot this one:

Chock Full of Nuts is that Heavenly Coffee
Heavenly Coffee, Heavenly coffee.
Chock Full of Nuts is that Heavenly Coffee,
a better cup a Rockefeller's money can't buy.

Later changed to "a millionaire's money can't buy".

The Ken-L-Ration commercial song was based on the following children's song by the great folksinger Tom Paxton. Just another piece of heretofore useless trivia clogging up my brain.

MY DOG'S BIGGER THAN YOUR DOG
Tom Paxton

My dog's bigger than your dog,
My dog's bigger than yours,
My dog's bigger
And he chases mailmen,
My dog's bigger than yours,

My dog's better than your dog,
My dog's better than yours,
His name is King,
And he had puppies,
My dog's better than yours.

My dad's tougher than your dad,
My dad's tougher than yours,
My dad's tougher
And he yells louder and
My dad's tougher than yours.

My dad's louder than your dad,
My dad's louder than yours,
Momma buys a new dress,
Daddy makes noises,
My dad's louder than yours.

Our car's faster than your car,
Our car's faster than yours,
It has a louder horn,
It bumps other cars,
Our car's faster than yours.

Our car's older than your car,
Our car's older than yours,
It stops running and Daddy kicks the fenders,
Our car's older than yours.

My Mom's older than your Mom,
My Mom's older than yours,
She takes smelly baths
She hides the gray hairs
My Mom's older than yours.

My Mom's funnier than your Mom,
My Mom's funnier than yours,
Her hair is pretty and
It changes colors,
My Mom's funnier than yours.

As long as we're talking about commercial jingles, here's some sad news for anyone who remembers the first of the late night television talk shows. Jack Paar, the king of late night, has died at the age of 85.

I kid you not.
