Name That Little Tune

Michael Hoffman and I were just reminiscing on another thread about beer jingles. I don't know if there ever was a bona fide food/beverage jingle thread, but what's your favorite -- or most hated -- jingle?

In St. Louis you can't get away from,

Here comes the King here comes the big number one
Budweiser beer the beer that's second to none
    etc.

Played between the 8th and 9th innings at Cardinal's games complete with a picture on the Diamond screen of the 8 horse hitch pulling a load of Bud, at Blues hockey games and at many other functions.

A friend just gave me the complete lyrics. To Wit.

Here comes the Bud, Here comes the big #1
Budweiser Beer, the King is second to none
The King is comin', so clear and strong
When you say Bud you've said it all
When you say Bud you've said it all

    Michael and my joint contribution:

My beer is Rheingold, the dry beer.
Think of Rheingold whenever you buy beer.
    It's not bitter, not sweet,
    it's the extra dry treat.
Won't you try extra dry Rheingold Beer.

From the land of sky blue waters.

    Hamn's beer

There was a good parody about Olympia's beer whose theme was "It's the water and a lot more" that had the Hamn's bear wizzing into a mountain stream

One of my favorite commercials was the one in which an unsuspecting new Schaefer truck driver was told that every new driver had to sing the jingle. He timidly stepped up on a crate and sang in a magnificent tenor voice -- to the absolute amazement of all.

Okay the most annoying commercials ever off the top of my head are:
The California raisins- i thought they would never shut-up they ruined a perfectly good song, everytime i hear the intro now i cringe. i wanted to take those raisins and burn them alive
Enjoli perfume commercial- "I bring home the bacon...fry it up in a pan..and never never never let you forget that your a man cause Im a woman....Enjoli"
Bonkers Candy- the candy fell out of the sky and bonked people on the head
Big Red-"kiss a little longer" those people needed to get a room already PDA at its worse.
My favorite commercial ever is the Dr. Pepper " im a pepper" commercial, i just wanted to get up and dance everytime. i also like the "buy the world a coke" commercial.

Is Schaefer and Stroh's still made? We used to buy Schaefer's by the case, it was sooooo cheap. Each case always had one or two cans that were only half full. Can't buy either hear any longer, which, I'm pretty sure is a good thing....

We used to mix a six-pack of Schaefer with a bottle of Guinness to try to make it more like a British ale. Kids, do not attempt this at home!

Wow, is this thread bringing back some memories!

When I lived on Cape Cod, there was a restuarant called Thimpson's Clam Bar that bought time on every single radio station on the Cape, so you couldn't escape their jingle.

It was a woman singing (in the most annoying voice imaginable)

We're going to Thompson's Clam Bar,
Cuz that's where the tastiest clams are...

Never did go there, because I hated the jingle so much. Anybody know if it's still there and if it's any good?

Chocolate-flavored Bosco is mighty good for me.
Mama puts it in my milk for extra energy.
Bosco gives me iron and sunshine Vitamin D.

There's just one Schlitz, yeah, yeah, nothing else comes near.
When you're out of Schlitz, you're out of beer.

(But there was a Mad Magazine parody of that insipid poem Trees: Poems are made by fools, I fear, but only Schlitz can make a beer.)
