Not to get anyones underwear in a knot, but on a site devoted to "road food", I'm curious why you would ask about fast food/chain restaurants in a foreign city? To each their own, and I would imagine that the Nashville airport itself might have what you want; most airports do. I take it you are not interested in that unique Nashville treat, "hot" chicken?

Well I'm going to be going to Nashville in 2 weeks but my hotel is in the airport area so I was wondering what would be closest by. I'm a big fan of the chains and fast food places and it's somewhat of a goal of mine to get to as many as I can. Luckily, there does appear to be a Sonic nearby, as well as a Waffle House.

Oh, man, if only you had been here a year ago! There used to be a Burger King near the airport. They had Whoppers, they had double Whoppers, they had Whoppers with cheese, they had Whoppers with bacon... I was "in" with the shift manager, and if you told her you were a friend of Poverty Pete's, she would have them make it your way! That's right...hold the lettuce, hold the pickle...any way you wanted it. It was SWEET!!

This is a forum about fast food and chains - so why is it any time I mention fast food and/or chains I either get accused of trolling or hit with a barrage of sarcastic or insulting responses? I could see if I was dicussing these things in a forum where they weren't relevant...

tuke, are you staying on donelson pike? there is a veritable smorgasbord of fast food next to and around the hotels (hope you're not staying at the LQ - its an old baymont but it's pretty rough). within a half mile of the donelson pike and I40 you have kfc, taco bell, waffle house, chili's, etc. also, there are several local places like Bar-B-Cutie and Vinny's (pizza)..had a pretty good pepperoni pie there. but don't be afraid to fire up the garmin and check out some of the great roadfood recommendations found on this board..there are plenty!

You're right, Tuke. Now I feel guilty. OK, to answer your question, most of the national chains are there on Donelson Pike, just north of the airport. There's nothing going south. If you have a car, try to find Fat Mo's. It's a local chain, with about 30 outlets now. The nearest to the airport is on Lebanon Rd. Good burger, better hot dog.

Sorry to snap at you there Pete. My previous thread about Chili's had soured my mood a little. I will be staying on Donelson Pike though, so I guess its looking pretty good for the restaurant search.

I know that it is a little out of your two mile radius -- but you are not far from opry mills mall. There are plenty of chains in the mall and around the area. Thanks Scott Collins Evansville IN
