Nathan's Hot dogs on sale at Pathmark Sun, 05/24/09 1:13 PM (permalink)
New guy here. Stopped at the Pathmark in Fairlawn earlier today. They have Nathan's on sale. Three packs for $5.79 with a club card. All varieties. I got one pack skinless and two packs natural casing. They also had the dinner size franks. I also picked up a 12 pack of Nathan's restaurant style hot dog buns for $2.39. The natural casing dogs seemed to be really juicy and maybe a little spicier than the skinless. Just want to pass this on seeing it was at such a good price.

I was out near Clinton, NJ today. The ShopRite chain also has Nathan's on deal this week, but at $2.49 for the 12 or 16 ounce package. I bought two packages of the natural casing. They didn't have Nathan's buns, but I manage to buy them in Manhattan at Gristede's supermarkets.

Here the sale is 2 for $7 - (12 or 14 oz) natural casing - Publix - Normally $4.89 a package.  I buy several and put them in the freezer.

The natural casing one is a very good hot dog!  I plan on grilling one up and topping it with Blackie's Hot Pepper Relish (A gift from RF's JoeR) and some French's Horseradish mustard.

Boar's Head also makes a very good natural casing hot dog..Two varieties - pork n beef or beef.

You can't beat those prices. At Giant I paid $5.29 for an eight pack of Nathan's Skinless last week, with good old Pepperidge Farm Rolls.

The dogs haven't been on sale in a while.

All the common dogs were on sale, i.e., Hatfield, Kunzler, etc. for $2.99 a pack.

Hatfield has a new New York all-beef deli style dog I may have to break down and try.

This was the first time I saw the Nathan's hot dog rolls. My son packs out for Arnolds. So getting rolls and buns is never a problem. He brings me a couple packs of New England style rolls once a month. I have to go back and pick up some more hot dogs today. Too good of a price to pass up.

We've  bought Sabrett's hotdogs for $3.49 for eight at Jungle Jim's the last few weeks - Nathan's have been over $5 for eight for a while there and around Cincinnati.  I have decided Sabrett's makes a much better tasting hotdog than Nathan's - biggier, tastier and juicier.

I agree with you. Normally I buy the Sabrett's. But the natural casing Nathan's is juicier and to me spicier than the skinless version. To me it's a very good dog. But I buy when they are on sale, including Best's, Hebrew National and Sabrett's.

Right now, the Sabrett Skinless and Nathan's Skinless are the same price, $5.29.

BH Natural Casing Beef are $6.00 for seven(?) in a package. It looks like seven, they're not laid out flat, but clustered in a bunch.

I know I am new here. But this post has nothing to do with recipes or cooking techniques. I was just trying to pass on a good deal. Strange that it got flagged to begin with.
