Amen, Davy, Photography and HiDef TV can bring back some of the memories one gets from the original 'live' visits...but it can't create those original feelings if we hadn't been there in the first place. It also can assist in creating the desire to see things "for real", and for that I give thanks to PBS and others who help stir that interest. But being there is the real thing, and there is no substitute for that!

I agree with you Davydd, my best memories are of out times in Yellowstone, the Tetons, Alaska and others seeing so much wildlife and awesome scenery up close. I was thrilled to find out that my 17 year old nephew had traveled to Yellowstone and loved it too, kids just don't get out like they should. My family and I had already traveled to 10 National Parks by the time I was 14 and I continued on as an adult.

Good Point Kland... We have been to and around Zion Park literally hundreds of time over the years. I will never forget a visit that we made with one of my recent HS Graduate sons riding with us from Indiana to SoCal. We drove all over the back roads around the Park, with him looking 'now and then'...until--at the Main Entrance to the Park, he saw the recently opened (at that time) IMAX Theater. He begged to go to the big-screen showing of the Park...when the real thing was all around him! Go Figure!
