Need help with where to eat on Utah/Arizona border?

I am planning a roadtrip around the Utah/Arizona border and looking for roadfood along the way.  Fly to Las Vegas then making the following stops:
  • Cedar City, UT to visit Bryce and Zion National Parks
  • Page, AZ to tour slot canyons
  • Mexican Hat, UT visiting Monument Valley area
  • Chinle, AZ visiting Canyon de Chelly
  • Holbrook, AZ
  • Tucson, AZ for flight home
Not many options included in the restaurants section of this forum.  Open to any and all suggestions.  Any ideas?

It has been quite a few years, but try Cowboy Smokehouse in Panguitch.  This is an easy drive from Bryce Canyon National Park.

    In Holbrook AZ:

You'll be close to Windslow AZ. Suggest:

For Tucson go to the RF homepage. Top right hand corner, "Find Authentic Regional Eats" type in Tucson, AZ. You'll get about 20 RF Reviewed places, all of them good.

Choices are pretty limited around Mexican Hat.  The Swinging Steak is the most famous place around but I've never been there.  I stayed in nearby Bluff at the Desert Rose Inn (very nice) and enjoyed meals at San Juan River Kitchen and Twin Rocks Trading Post.  Goulding's Lodge at Monument Valley can provide a good breakfast as well.

When in Mexican Hat, be sure to drive up to Goosenecks and up the Moki Dugway.  If you don't mind some gravel, drive out to Muley Point.  Well worth it.

I've been to both places mentioned in Holbrook and Winslow, Arizona.
Don't miss either if you can help it.  Very different from one another and both excellent it their own way.

I wrote about both here and they're both on the first page of the report:

Don't know what your time constraints are, but if you have time, you're going to be relatively close to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Altogether different than the South Rim. Definitely worth checking out. We did the North Rim, Bryce & Zion all in one day.
Actually, I prefer the North Rim over the South Rim. Fewer people, less commercial and more serene

Market Grill in Cedar City.  A "locals only" kind of place that has an excellent chicken-fried steak at dinner and is especially good for breakfast.

In Springdale, just outside Zion, I really like the Whiptail Grill.  They are slow but the food is excellent, particularly their "habanero creme brulee" which I highly recommend!

Thanks to all for your input.  Sounds like some good ideas that I would not have found.

    Other ideas welcome.

If you do make it to North Rim or are just taking 89A between Zion and Page, stop at Jacob Lake Inn and stock up on some cookies for the road.

Also, south of Chinle, stop at the Hubbell Trading Post Nat Hist Site and take the $2 tour of the Hubbell's home.  Very interesting.

I also appreciate the help here as I will be taking almost the same trip in October. We will also be in Springdale and Cannonville, UT.

I should point out that the Moki Dugway is not for the faint of heart.  Gravel and no guardrails.
