Meowzart: thanks for the thought and thanks for the lips. I really do not think it is much of a challenge as the board tends to keep itself in line. Every now and then there are some conflicts but that is the job of the moderators to keep these from becoming a problem. This can be resolved 99% of the time by common sense and communication.

Thanks to all that wished me well. I am fortunate that I have the "Mayor" and "Redtressed" to work well.

What we all wish is for this forum to improve and do well. It is grown a lot since i first started posted several years ago. What we all wish is for it to continue to improve. It gets a little stale on occasion and what we sincerely need is innovation with creative new threads. It is easy to start a new thread with simplicity but not so easy to create a new thread that will not only inspire others to post but to make us all think what the forum is about. Roadfood? what really is it?

The Sundancer will be traveling this following week to meet with RickF in a town in Louisiana call "Natchitouches" or something like that to have some meat pies and on to Austin to do some great BBQ with Bushie that is associated with beef. I have been there before and it is great. I will be returning to Tunica, MS to the Blue and White to have some great fried chicken and on to Lexington, TN for some great pork BBQ at Hays Smokehouse. I will enjoy their ribs and pulled pork.

I will be returning there in mid February with "The Mayor", "Bushie", Poverty Pete", Pogophiles" and "Tiki" and perhaps others such as "Lleechef" I hope there are many more. Hays is in my opinion the best BBQ place in the USA.

Legally Speaking In Nebraska

Thanks to all for your wishes. I just got back from a 2800 mile ride. I met RickF in Shreveport, LA and we drove to Austin to have some great BBQ with Mrs. Bushie and Bushie and then I drove back with RickF to Shreveport and I personally stopped off at Sams Town in Shreveport to play a little blackjack. I did OK but not exciting. I traveled on to Tunica MS to the Blue and White which is written up on roadfood and also covered by yours truly. I had fried chicken and fried green tomatoes. It is improving if you can believe that. The new owner has truly taken a expanded interest. Stopped at Hays Smokehouse and had a great pulled pork sandwich and some ribs.



I was hesitant to be a moderator but now that I have accepted the responsibility, I will try to represnet the forum and members responsible.

Man, Bob & I really REALLY want to make that Hays BBQ trip...every avenue I've looked at (train, plane & automobile - funny movie..too) have either been too expensive or way to long a drive for a weekend Haven't given up hope yet, though....

I would have to agree, and it is a gentle reminder of all the fine folks who contribute to these boards. I know I don't post as much, as I read (trust me, my life is very quiet, and I don't get out much) but I love good local food, and hope to post some reviews from River City (aka Sacramento) establishments. Thanks to all the fine folks who enrich all our lives. Cheers!
