Anyone happen to catch this new show on one of the cooking channels, it was Ree Drummond Pioneer Woman? Seems like it might be a good show. I believe I have seen enough of Paula Deen and her butter laden crap to last a life time Y'all

I enjoyed the show. I've read her blog off and on for a couple of years. I also like the new show from the Next FN Star winner, The Sandwich King. He wasn't my pick to win until the last couple of episodes. I am pleasantly surprised that I have really enjoyed his first two episodes.

Yes, refreshingly good show and her blog is always a treat. Beats most of Food Networks offerings these days.

She was "Discovered" when Bobby Flay did a "Throwdown" with her a while back. Apparently FN liked what they saw and offered her a show.

I haven't seen pioneer woman, but I like the idea that she made it to the foodnetwork through blogging and apparently a bobby flay throw down. As for the sandwich king, I can't stand how he talks. The sandwiches he makes looks pretty good, but how he talks freaking kills me. I'd throw down with Claire anytime!

You have a point about Jeff Mauro, The Sandwich King, because he never pronounces the word sandwich correctly. The show's promo voice-over gets it right (SANDwich), but he always gets it wrong (SAMwich). Drives me crazy beyond belief.

I've followed The Pioneer Woman's blog for a few years now - she's got some really good recipes - Crash Potatoes was a hit for us and she does know Chicken Fried Steak and gravy - whole milk please and not to be confused with Country Fried Steak. Her photography is simply beautiful. On the show the family seems to be a little nervous on the delivery of their lines but it's refreshing to see a cooking show that takes you out of the kitchen a bit and into a glimpse of their day to day lives.

Is it as compelling a show as Cooking with the Neelys? Possibly the most cringe inducing fiasco ever produced!

I wanted to take an extra diabetes pill after watching the Neely's... once. Does anyone have the link to the Pioneer Woman's blog? Thanks!

Mellow, Ya'll ain't ignorant, just keep searching for knowledge - so here's knowledge. "Actually "country fried" would be seasoned, floured and fried without the egg dip. As you know, "chicken fried" is flour, dip in egg and flour again to get a thick crust." Source(s): http://www.texascooking.com/Askdocjohn04

Re: Sandwich King He should realize that not everybody has Internet access (or wants to have to look in two places to get the recipe), and have captions (like Alton Brown does) giving amounts of ingredients that are being used. Bart
