Wow. Sounds great but I wish the relish trays, butter-dipped steaks, and tallow-fried potatoes were still available! I know that Roadfood get-togethers are usually about trying a variety of places but with the abundance of East Coasters here it seems like a beefsteak would be interesting to do at least once. Brad

The Beacon Restaurant in Manhattan has an annual Bifsteak. This year it is Feb. 5, but they usually sell out early. I've heard they are great fun.

I've been going for 10+ plus years in St Margaret's parish in the Bronx. The Men's Beefsteak is the highlight of the year - This Friday, February 1st. I'll attempt to take photos. They are held to raise money for the CYO team. The number's rise every year - we are up over 300 people.

We used to have these in Philly, for a fund raiser for various clubs. We would call them a BEEF&BEER. Ususally served with hot roast beef/not filet, and many kegs of beer.I was a cheap way of raising $$$$$$

Read the article earlier in the week...what a great tradition! As Super Bowl weekend is here, this would be a perfect thing to do at home for the best Super Bowl party ever.

That sounds amazing. Deliciously amazing. I don't live too far from that area at all. I'm gonna keep my eyes open and hopefully find out about the next one.
