According to the Kansas City Star, Kansas City Union Station will be converting the now empty food court where Fred Harvey's Westport Room and the Lobster Pot/Colony Steakhouse used to be back into a diner. The plan is to make it very closely resemble the Westport Room complete with an old fashioned soda fountain. The idea is that the diner will open in June or July to be ready when the 3000 IRS employees move into their new building complex based around the old Main Post Office across the street. My understanding is that it is supposed to be operated by the Hereford House people that have Pierpont's next door and will be open 24 hours.
