New Member New Build!

Hello Everyone! you guys are all wonderful. I have spent countless hours reading about all your successes and failures, rants and advice and I am ready to jump in!

I am putting a wood fired pizza oven in a step van. I have seen it on old trucks but not in an enclosed step van.

SO.. I plan on doing 95% of the work myself. I have read and understand (kinda) electrical plans with a generator and inverter/charger with battery backups. Plumbing seams a bit easier than the electrical. So the plan is to this week into next meet with the Health Inspector to go over my plans. and start by pulling all shelfs and junk out of the Van

I purchased a 1988 P30 witha 16' Bed. Wow once it is real and you are looking at an old truck there is so much to do. I am going to take it slow and do as much as I can but a full time Job and a 1 and 3 year old kids are going to make it tough.

I will post pics to flickr soon. Until I have the 30 posts complete.  I am excited to finally be an active member here. Doing something rather than just talking about it!

If any of you have any links that were super helpful during your build I would really appreciate any insight. Or any thing you wish you knew day one.. (other than the real cost not the estimated one)..

Good luck KSF! A brick oven is an ambitious project!
Building a P30 seems to be all the rage these day :-) I've read 2 or 3 other builds posts here and I just bought a 1990 P30 last weekend. I'm getting the DMV stuff straightened out this week and then I'm tearing all the shelving out and jumping in. Like you I'm doing it along with a day job, but I'm hoping to get some time off for at least part of it.
Maybe we can help each other along the way.
    Cheers

    Pizza? Yum..
Good luck with the build. It's fun to see so many trucks being built. Can't wait to see it, and share mine.

    Pizza in South Carolina.

What are the popular toppings for the area?

Please don't say cole slaw. Please don't say cole slaw!!!
