New Mexico Burger Heaven!

The Sunday Albuquerque Journal carried an article pertaining to a story in GQ magazine about the top hamburgers in the US. Two New Mexico burger joints made the list. In the top ten was the Buckhorn Cafe in San Antonio. For those of you familiar with the town name, it is the same place as the original Owl Bar.
In the top 20 was Bobcat Bite just outside Santa Fe. Both restaurants were rated on the high quality of the burgers, but the added touch was, of course, the great New Mexico green chile. (Yes, this is the way we spell it here).
Strangely enough, the original Owl Bar and the three prototypes here in Albuquerque didn't make the list; although the last one I had was not up to quality. The bun was so saturated with grease and green chili liquid that it literally fell apart when I picked it up.
So, you burger-philes, come out and try these two places. They are equal to anything I have had anywhere else!!!

Yeah, the Owls in Albuquerque are completely unworthy of the name -- I'd even rather eat at the 66 Diner than the Owl, and the 66 hasn't really been worth going to since they reopened after a massive fire in 1995.
