New Oscar Mayer Bacon Dog review

I thought I'd post this review here.

I should have known better.. I don't really care for Oscar Mayer dogs. I also don't like turkey and do not usually like these type of mixed meat dogs.
But it said BACON.. bacon was calling me. Also, they were $1.50. That was calling me a little, but not as much as bacon was calling me. I got them at Wally World.
So, I took them home and fried them up four of them up. The outside blisters very quickly. One for my Grandmother and three for me. I figure I could eat three. I had them on a bun with nothing but spicy mustard.
Both of our comments:
- No bacon flavor what so ever
My Grandmothers comments:
- They're good. She says a hot dog is a hot dog and she wouldn't know it's mixed meat.
My comments:
- These are disgusting. I didn't even finish one dog. They have a funky mixed meat flavor and I can definitely tell the difference between something that's beef and something not. I wouldn't buy these again.

Well, you know how people are, me included, just say the word bacon and we're all over it!

Well, right from the label you know it's not beef.  "Turkey and chicken & pork and bacon".  It's not trying to sell itself as a beef frank.   But if you can't discern bacon flavor in something that's selling itself as a bacon dog though... this is going to have a short lifespan.

I popped for Oscar Mayer Bacon Bologna; it too had no bacon flavor.

Bacon Bologna.. never seen it. I would have liked that as well (in theory), but probably not in reality.

Thanks for the warning.  I have been lusting after these ever since I saw the announcement, but none of my local supermarkets have them.  I too, do a rush when the word bacon appears, but I'll pass and just keep wrapping my other dogs in a slice or doing "one for the roll"..or hell.....both!

I wont buy ANY Oscar Meyer product. It could have bacon dripping off it-wouldn't trust it.
