I just got back from "working" at the Kansas State Fair for 3 days (I work for the State, and manned our Department's booth to pass out literature to fairgoers).

The new taste sensation was deep fried battered cheese curds this year. I just coundn't bring myself to pony up $6 to try a small paper container of these greasebombs - anyone else seen or tried these babies?

I didn't see the deep fried oreos this year, but the omnipresent Pronto Pup still reign supreme.

Maybe next year they'll batter fry poutine

A&W has fried chesse curds, and if you go north to Wisconson, Michiagn and Illinios you find them all over the place. Very good when hot and fresh (as are most fried foods)
