New culinary history/cooking show looking for you? Wed, 02/15/06 5:08 PM (permalink)
Hi everyone. I am the producer of a television show that is looking for great unsung home chefs, The Stone Soup Show, www.stonesoupshow.com.

We are looking for participants for our first show. Each half-hour show features a club, group of friends, church or synagogue or family who shares with us the preparation of their favorite traditional meals, home cooking and secret recipes.

For our first couple of shows we are looking for groups of chefs in the greater Los Angeles area that share a common thread, be it that they are in the same family, club, religious or cultural organization.

Take a look at our website www.stonesoupshow.com and if you think that either you or someone you know from the greater Los Angeles area would be interested in participating drop us a line at recipes@stonesoupshow.com.

Best,

Michael Escher

    Hi Michael. Welcome to Roadfood.

I'm the cook at my house. Over 21 years of marriage, I have always been the cook, and at some point I stopped being a guy who knows his way around the kitchen and turned into a serious home cook, as the late Julia Child would say. (In return I never have to cut the grass; my wife, Vickie, has that area covered.)

Our 12 year old son, Ian, is pretty good in the kitchen too. Makes great chicken vegetable soup and has made his own pizza. Can help me make pasta (he likes cranking the machine) and form his own baguettes. (I am SO going to have a nice daughter in law some day.)

You're on the right website. A lot of us like to cook at home as much as we like to eat Roadfood. I'd suggest you also look at where we shop. Jungle Jim's here in Ohio is a favorite destination of roadfooders.

Have fun. Roadfooders? What can we offer this guy?

I am surprised that more people didn't respond to this. Heck, if it were in Jersey I'd be all over this - hams that we both are

Sorry folks, can't help you here, I am already the producer/director/make-up girl and just about everything else for our food show. I have lined up the International Vice-President of Cordon Bleu to be our next guest chef!

            Concept is pretty cool.
            Good luck with your venture.
