Newbie - Location help

Well, my husband and I are taking the plunge into the hot dog vending business. We just ordered our cart, in the process of getting licensed my the county, and now we are trying to figure out where to vend. It's kind of discouraging. We live in Michigan near Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor is the ideal place because of the University and all the foot traffic. We have spotted two other vendors in the area. We are just afraid we will not have access to our car. We still have to get a permit if that is where we choose to go.

We have thought about out in front of grocery stores, busy stores like Walmart, Golf courses, parks (can't do that though - city won't allow it), events (carnivals - but how do you do that), local businesses, etc. We just need some ideas of every day locations. I know that we will learn as we go but I'm hoping we will not regret this decision. Any advice or feedback will be great! Thanks!
