Newbie Questions

I am located in Orlando FL and want to start a mobile food cart selling hotdogs, snowcones, drinks and candy. I have just begun to do the leg work. I have a few questions:

1 Do i really need to leave my equipment at a commissary when not in use?
2 Ha anyone sold on school property (be that middle school, high school or college)?
3 Would it be less work to only sell prepackaged food? (less work meaning less licensing work/fees)
Thank you in advance.

Also, any other advice or suggestions that will help are greatly appreciated.
 v/r,
Dan

    Welcome to Roadfood.
There have been tons of threads and posts on Roadfood on this subject. Suggest you dig into the search functions to take advantage of all the information in here on the subject. One thing that came out of all that info is that Florida is probably the toughest state to do a mobile cart business in, along with GA.

    1. You'll need to ask your local health dept about that.
    2. You'll need to find your local ordinances about that subject.
    3. Typically, the HD would put you in a lesser risk category with prepackaged food or cooking only hot dogs, and sometimes you do save money on fees and would get inspected less often.
