At one of the "Original House of Pancakes" in Dallas, I usually have one (soft) poached egg over corned beef hash with wheat toast and sometimes, if I'm really hungry, I add an order of hashbrowns. They don't know from home fries in Dallas. But, their "French roast" coffee is great!
Filling, but not terribly hi calorie!

I'm curious. Where do you get 11 grams of fiber from?

Yep a few years ago I could easily handle that and probably have a large glass of milk to boot. Then about 3 hours later be ready for lunch.

Cool - an entire day's calories & fat in just one meal.  What a time saver.

The fiber comes from the inadvertent consumption of the napkin.

If you don't mind I'll take four eggs instead of just two, and I'll skip the flapjacks and have either some biscuits or toast. That way it's just about right for me.

Oh, and a few cups of coffee.

As i take care of blood  sugar issues, pancakes become a treat i must carefully decide when to eat, hash browns a luxury I most often have to forego.

10 years ago I could eat that, with a few cups of light sweet coffee.

Now? No way. I'd be lucky to eat the entire steak, let alone everything else.

I'm afraid I'll have to pass. My doctor would kill me. Or, I'd kill myself. I'm supposed to be on 1,200 mg. of sodium a day-at the most!

Still don't see where the 11 grams of fiber comes from. This could be the gastranomic equivalent of the "Hair of the Dog" at Man Bites Dog which consists of a 1/2 lb dog wrapped in bacon then deep fried, covered with chili, cheese and a fried egg on top then drizzled with tabasco sauce. I had one and was uncomfotable for days.

I've always felt what IHOP sells are mostly fattening desserts ,not breakfasts. The last time I was there(years ago) few people were eating a standard breakfast. I saw pancakes loaded with syrupy fruit and cream etc. And That's what they advertise, too!!Give me a Jersey diner that serves the real thing at a fair price. If I eat at a breakfast chain, it's Waffle House, or on the road Cracker Barrel....not the International House of Desserts!!!!

Not even sure why we're discussing  IHOP on the breakfast forum, doesn't belong in the garbage fast food and chain forum?

As far as I know the IHOP serves the same bacon and eggs that the mom and pop diner serves.

I wouldn't count on  that. I haven't stepped foot in an Ihop in years and don't intent to do so....Roadfood is about independent local restaurants. There is a fast food and chain forum and this thread does belong there, not in the breakfast forum...

Equally important, why someone would choose to revive a thread that is a full year old just to trash the establishment in question is beyond me.

TTM- A Spammer bumped the thread... but apparently some folks who were looking for a chance to rant decided to make it their platform.
no problem.. an egg is an egg, no matter where it is served.
