Official Reviews with no photos? - Mon, 01/19/09 2:26 PM ( #1 )
Is it my PC?  Is it a new policy?  Is it a bug in the software?  Did Bruce goof?

The three latest reviews posted in the Latest Restaurant Reviews on the home page have no photos attached.  They are:

Gilley's PM Lunch
Curley's Pub
Nunan's Lobster Hut

I was wondering the same.. I thought perhaps content was being blocked.

There is nothing wrong with your monitor. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission.

Send Bruce a note... I am not aware of a change in photo policy. It might just be a quirk in the new system somewhere.

OK I see tht he is following up. Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing, but I'm sure it is just a temporary thing.  Still, it is great to see Gilley's get reviewed on here.  And if Michael has recently been to Green Bay (at this time of year?), I hope that means we can look forward to reviews of Chili John's and Kroll's West.

It is a change of policy.  We know of hundreds of great restaurants that we don't have photos of or, for legal reasons, cannot post a review.  It would be shame not to let everyone know about these places, so we decided to post them with the hopes that others will take photos and/or write a review.  There is only one caveat, these are only places that one of the Roadfood.com editors have visited and can vouch for.

Stephen, is there a list of all these places on the RF site?

If there is a legal issue, would a Roadfood.com member be subject to any legal trouble if they submitted a review for one of the aforementioned restaurants?

When I have some spare cycles I will make it easy for people to find the restaurants where we are missing photos and reviews.  For example, you will be able to do a proximity search and it will say we need a photo of the following dishes from the following restaurants and they are located about x number of miles from a specific address.

It will be like a foodie treasure hunt.

Of course, anyone submitting food photos is expected to send Roadfood.com a sample of the food in the photo.

Bruce,

Oh, you liked that one. Here is Sue and you:

doggydaddy, it's a little embarrassing to admit that I've never seen either Plan 9 or Ed Wood.  But as a little kid that image of Vampyra walking out of the woods used to terrify me.

You call it being a sicko.  I prefer to think of it as unbridled enthusiasm.  It's a fine line.

I'm looking at some of these new places that have been added since the policy change and they sound really good.  Of course, it would be better to have the photos, but at least now we know about these places.  That St. Francis Fountain makes me want to visit San Francisco ASAP!

I'd appreciate a picture..it helps...but a thoughtful review with good analusis is all I really need...so it's no real problem without them!

CajunKing, so you're a B-movie fan too, huh? What kinds are your favorites? I'm passionate about 1950s sci-fi films, especially the low-budget schlocky stuff. My idea of cinematic bliss is a classic double-feature like " The Killer Shrews " and " The Giant Gila Monster ".

That request is too easy.

Here is a link with a review to the film, the whole site is excellent. Check it

I received a A for my political science class in college where I covered the presidential campaign of Zippy the Pinhead. My teacher encouraged me to send it to magazines to see if it could get published. No bites....
