Ogallala, NE and Salina, UT Mon, 09/7/09 4:52 PM (permalink)
My sister, who is deathly afraid of flying, made the drive from San Diego to Minnesota last week for a visit with a friend spelling her at the wheel.. The friend is staying here and our Dad was going to drive back with her, but he is not feeling well. I decided to take his place and drive back with her. Our route will be Interstate 35 south to 80, across Nebraska into Colorado, 75 into Utah, and 15 the rest of the way. Was looking for some roadfood suggestions from you fine folk along this path, specifically Ogallala, NE. and Salina, UT which are our planned overnight stops. We leave Wednesday morning. Sorry for the really short notice but the plan came together just a few short hours ago. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Too late now, but if yer in the Ogallala area, You might change yer plan to Paxton, NE, instead. Ole's in Paxton is a real, ..., uh, ..., oddity.

South of Ogallala is McCook, about an hour south.  "Our Place" was an excellent breakfast diner, but I haven't been there for many years, so you would want to google it or try to call ahead.

      Good luck!
