For those of you that spent any time or is from that area I found a facebook page called "I grew up in south Florida in the 60's, 70's and 80's . It will really bring back some memories. There are literally 100's of photo's of old attractions, restaurants, clubs and the area in general. Although the title of the group says 60's and later I found many photos from the 40's and 50's. I've really enjoyed going through those pictures. http://www.facebook.com/p...nd-80s/203472476342271

Does the Bradenton area count as "south Florida"? In 1975 my family stayed at a place called "The Ponderosa" on Longboat Key and I wouldn't mind seeing some photos of it since it's long gone, but apparently one has to be a Facebook member to continue on the page. Brad

No Brad I haven't seen anything about Bradenton or anywhere on the west coast of Florida. They generally refer to south Florida as being on the east coast from West Palm Beach down to the keys. I think someone could easily get one going for the west coast of Florida if there isn't already as I'm sure there is tons of material out there. Thanks for the tip - I grew up in Homestead from '71-75 and while most of the info was from areas farther north - it did bring back lots of memories. Thanks Scott C Evansville IN

I ran across his page a couple of years ago and had forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me. DawnT Don't forget Don Boyd's Pbase page that's been around quite a while. http://www.pbase.com/donboyd/memories
