bill voss stricken_detective ^^They don't taste the same & if you make em at home, you can add sliced green onions to the batter. If you make them at home, it ain't fast food. If you made & sold them from a building close to home...there goes the 140 mile trip to "official" Roadfood. You are now on the map!

I'm fascinated by the hostility. What, no one but certain people are entitled to an opinion? Good to know!

bill voss I wish we had a long john silver's. You can get the same effect at home by eating a mix of salt, crisco, and fish sticks and then watch your ankles swell.

mayor al Bob I have enjoyed both the Burgers you mention--In-n-Out and 5 Guys and I must point out there would not be a fair competition between the two brands. They are quite different in make-up and appearance. I believe they are as 'different' as either one would be when compared to a White Castle or Culvers. I happen to like all of the above! It would be a hard choice for me, if I wanted a Burger, and was at an intersection where there was a 5 Guys, an In-n-Out, a White Castle and a Culvers on the corners. Maybe traffic flow would be the deciding factor ! There'a a Culvers and a Five Guys practically across the street from each other about 20 miles away in Lawrence, KS (we have neither here in Topeka) - I generally choose Five Guys. If there was also an In-N-Out and a White Castle, I would go to In-N-Out first, White Castle second and Five Guys third.

felix4067 I'm fascinated by the hostility. What, no one but certain people are entitled to an opinion? Good to know! It is apparent that some feel that their opinion can be the only possible correct one...don't let 'em get to you. What you brought up was a valid point...and either way, it invites discussion. I applaud your gumption it doubting "the system"

Opinions are opinions, my friend..................every opinion reflects one's view. Do not be harsh Eatingtheroad........................! I thnk that the original poster had a point but also know that the Sterns have included this place in their books. I would rather have a picture of an independent restaurant but, in the long run, who cares?

Greymo, huh? How was I being harsh? I was supporting his right to have an opinion. I'm confused...
