What are they gonna do with a 79 lb burger? Great pic though and I am sure the publicity will help their business. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

One Iron, I wasn't aware you were bi-lingual!! I must admit if I were an American in Thailand (I was, briefly, 44 years ago) I would probably look up the place to get a taste of BBQ as I remembered it. The guy has a gold mine there if he markets it correctly! So far it appears he is on the right track. Imagine the smoker working in that 'High-Fire-Hazard' business district!

Sometimes I think bringing western food, in western-sized portions and our bad eating habits, is not the kindest thing we can do to other countries. JMO.

Au contraire.... they eat dogs and cats over there, and the hygiene is atrocious. If you never heard of Nuoc Mam... it's a fish sauce made by throwing whole fish on a tin roof for a few days and catching the drippings into a jar for your rice dishes. Our habits are "unkind?" But it's what you are familiar with.

Hey Pete, You met my girl friend while you were there? She was working at the Bar to support her missionary parents and an invalid Grandmother who was injured by the Pahet Lao when she swam out of Laos. What a Girl!

But it's what you are familiar with." I believe that nuoc mam is one name for the standard fish sauce used in most souteast Asian cooking. You could probably make it on a tin roof, but I think most of it comes from factories these days. Of course, in Westerly RI there are still families who make their own soupy (a sopresatta-like sausage) and cure it on the clothesline in the backyard. As for eating dogs, etc., that's the first thing I thought of when I saw that burger.

Yikes, that's what I get for jumping on a soapbox and pontificating on something I obviously know nothing about. Total embarrassment here. Carry on.
