One Day and Night... Fri, 02/11/05 7:39 AM (permalink)
I have just made plans to go to NY to see the Cubs and Yankees in late June. The plan is this; fly into NY (NJ) on 6/17 early morning, sightsee, go to the game in the bronx in the evening, then head to the Port Authority and get a bus and head out to Atlantic City. My plan is then to take in the sites in A.C. and then head back to the airport the following afternoon.

As you can see my time is limited (by design). Because there is so much to eat and so little time to pack it in I am looking for some suggestions for must haves while I am on this little junket. I won't have a car so none of the suggestions can be off the beaten path.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Your advantage is that while in the NYC area, public transportation is plentiful, and pretty easy to navigate, if you have any sense of direction. NYC is really one big grid and the subway system is one of the best in the world. When you say that you are flying into NJ, should I assume that you mean Newark (EWR)? If you are flying into Atlantic City (ACY), you are going to have a much tougher time.

Also, make sure that there is a bus that runs from the Port Authority to ACY as late as 11 pm or midnight. I can only imagine what the crew on that junket would look like!

How much of NYC do you plan to take in for sightseeing? Clearly, there is only so much you can do in the city in such a short period of time, so I would be glad to chip in with some suggestions if you have an idea as to what side of town you want to be on.
