Onion Rings, Strings or Bloomin Onion.

Which is your favorit and why...Me, I love all 3, it just depends on my immediate crave. If I had to go with 1, a fantastic Ring would be it. And you?

Yes I'll go along with fresh breaded rings. Used to like the blooming onion type thing but have lost my taste for it the last few years..

I prefer the string fried onions as they have less breading. I especially like texas toothpicks, a combination of breaded onion strings and breaded jalapeno strips.

I like the rings best, but only if they're crispy and not watery.

I used to work at a restaurant called Jo-Jo's in the 70's, and they had the BEST onion rings-1/2 inch slices of onions, beer battered and fried to perfection. If I could find those again, they would be my favorite. I really like onion strings-never had a bloomin onion.

My vote is freshly (lightly) battered onion rings.  Frozen onion rings are really nasty.  I find the strings and especially the bloomin onion to typically be very greasy.

Mostly onion rings (not frozen ones)  but sometimes real crisp thin onion straws are pretty darn good.

"To order" is important to me, too.  I like onion rings fried until they're very dark brown, well past golden, and one of my favorite lunches at a local bar is a burger barely cooked and onion rings cooked to death.

Rings first, strings second.  Don't like the bloom things.
For rings, beer battered is best.

Most important is that they are thin.  I don't like the thick ones.  Thin gives a better crunch to onion ratio.  When they're too thick, you taste mostly onion and not as much crunch.   You end up with a mouth full of onion, like you are eating it as a vegetable.   I don't eat onion rings to get my daily veggies.  I eat onion rings for the  fried cunchy bliss.....with thinly cut onion to hold it together and for flavor.  :)

Onion strings, unless I can get Nikki's world-class onion rings.  Chefbuba's looks a lot like them, in fact.  I'll take an order, Chefbuba!
