I haven't had anyone comment on prices other then they are good (low). Yesterday I had someone buy a XXL pork sandwich and put about 4oz of yellow mustard on the sandwich, it was a yellow mess.

At least you don't have people asking "what is pulled pork"... drives us nuts. Ranks right up there with "what is sauerkraut" and half can't pronounce it, or read it, we haven't figured it out yet. We had to up our BBQ prices (they didn't know what BBQ was either) from $4.50 to $5. Sales have dropped a lot. David is worried that it was the price increase. I think the government benefits are running out and folks aren't buying because of it.

Lost Nation This is what I started with https://picasaweb.google.com/103200304792624046939/2008_05_05# Wow! I love to see nothing turned into something. Great job on converting that old rusted trailer. That is a huge grey water tank, it's making me second think my choice to use a square fresh water tank as a grey tank. I like how your drain outlet is flush with the bottom of the tank so there will be no water standing after you drain. I think I will have a problem with that in my setup since my drain hole is not quite flush with the tank bottom. Good job.

Nice set-up. Are you cooking at home and transporting the pork or cooking on site?

Vermont is an easy state to cater in. I have a home catering license (a long with a on site license) That lets me cook at home. The ribs, chicken, sausage and dogs are cooked everyday on site.

First the trailer looks great and your attitude is awesome. Of course that attitude may change when you run into enough people like Lorna described and I promise there are millions. Our country gets dumber every day. Don't get me started. LOL Now Lorna, no the BBQ business is down everywhere, becuase you can buy Tacos for 89 cents each and McDonald's keeps running specials, and of course there is BKing) but still $5.00 for a smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich is way to low. What are you guys paying per pound for shoulders? Locally we are paying $1.59 (up 30%) and with 50% shrinkage, (loss of weight from smoking and bone) your talking $3.18 per pound. My sandwiches are way to big. I'm raiseing my price from $5.50 to $6.00 soon. Jack

Jack my price for a 4oz pulled pork is $6.95 and the same for 4oz brisket and $8.95 for a 6oz sandwich. $5.95 for a turkey leg. Each comes with a beans & coleslaw. Just started making ribblets for 3 for $6.95 w/beans&coleslaw.

I don't want to hijack this thread but I'm selling an 8 ounce sandwich for $5.50. I'm raising my prices as soon as my printer can get me new menus.

LN, Awesome, Awesome build, I missed it in the pictures, when did it go from a single axle (two wheels) to a dual axle (four wheels). I just noticed it started with two wheels and ended with four, did you take pictures of that part. I wish you would share. Thanks.

Our BBQ sandwich is 8 oz also (on toasted 5" Kaiser bun). BBQ is picking back up slowly. We will probably up the price once we change towns at the end of summer. The next town we are planning to go to is much bigger and has a better income base than the one we are in now. Basically this town is too small to support us. We are getting a good percentage of the population but that is too small. On top of that, David has had to cut his hours down quite a bit and cut out doing events on weekends. His meds are really slowing him down. Gotta get the skoolie converted first. Sure hope the $$ start back flowing. Would you believe it cost $26,700 to fly David the 70 miles up to the hospital in Albuquerque! Holy cow! Do you think we will fit in at Roswell, NM? My family is from Jupiter.... FL! We've been told we are kinda... "out there".

I just noticed it started with two wheels and ended with four, did you take pictures of that part. I wish you would share. Thanks. I think the last picture in the "open for business" thread shows the steps but also the jack stands. On a last minute decision we decided to mount the axlr's on these beams. This left about 20" of axle stub on each side. I built this trailer on jack stands and when I put it on the ground the first time I didn't like the flex on the axle's so I ordered another axle and made it a tandem.
