Ort's in the Hospital

I just ran across an article at "Athensonline" that our friend Ort is in the hospital with heart problems. Apparently he has a leaking mitral valve in his heart and they are going in to repair it. Article said he does not have health insurance. Prayers go out to Ort!

I just got off the phone with our most esteemed Ort. He is doing well and anticipating the surgery of repair sometime in the next two weeks. He sends greetings to one and all. If someone in the Ort-on-the-street challenged Athens area happens to read this, please sneak the poor boy in a pint of oatmeal stout. He's got a hankerin' goin' on.

I just got off the phone with our friend, and he informed me that stout is a good blood-thinner, as it contains a lot of tannins. Just more proof that Willie Nelson was on to something when he observed: "There's more old drunks than there are old doctors..."
Ort says he has about 8 columns ready to be posted if they will let him out of lockup long enough to get to the library. Between some dental surgery he needs, and the heart surgery, he'll be poked and prodded a a lot over the next few weeks, but hopefully the nurses will be pretty. He will post here as soon as he can.
