I'll let you know the reply. (We've never tried Ovaltine but my kids enjoy ridiculing their commercials!)

And I refuse to buy their product because I can't stand their commercials (hey, Ovaltine, how many ways can you spell "backfire"?).

....As a kid I really liked the Bosco jar with the "pump" on it....cool!

I believe Nestle Quik is now called Nesquik. Also, Ovaltine has changed their ingredients and for instance, beet juice has been removed and something else used in its place so the vitamins that had come from the beets are no longer in Ovaltine. There's really no nutrition left in Ovaltine any more.

I think what really caught my eye was the fact that it claims to have more vitamins, etc. than Quick; I haven't compared them but I'm happy with Ovaltine enough to not even bother checking their claim.
And I don't know about ya'll, but only I can make my own drink. I never liked it when someone else mixed it for me, I always thought it was gross.

I recently bought a jar of Ovaltine Classic because I forgot what it tasted like. I didn't like it in milk. I got brave and sprinkled a tablespoon over my hot cereal. It added a nice twist! Then I got braver and dropped a spoonful into the blender with frozen berries, a banana, and vanilla yogurt. Believe it or not, the flavor mixed well with the berries. Yesterday I ate a plain banana, dipping it into Ovaltine powder. But I still can't stand Ovaltine the way it's meant to used: in a glass of milk. Yuk. And for those who care, a tablespoon of Ovaltine only has 0.3 g fat and 30 calories. Sugar is the fifth ingredient listed, so it's minimal. Ovaltine is one way brighten certain simple dishes.

Mine too. I was hooked first by the commercials on the old Captain Midnight TV show, which ran for one season, then was syndicated as Jet Jackson, because Ovaltine owned the rights to the character name. They had had the rights since the character had started out on radio, then went to comics and a movie serial.
At any rate, the lead actor, Richard Webb, was a great 50's style hero, and if he said that HE drank it, we sure did.

IT's all Ovaltine in our house...
the vitamins, etc make the guilt over the sugar go away...
and it helps get the calcuium into the little guys...
we're not big milk lovers...

Isn't this apples and oranges? I thought Ovaltine was a malt-based, at-one-time nutritious drink, and Nestle Quick was just a chocolate powder to flavour milk?

Gee, second post already! hehe Best wishes to all.

How about U-Bet Chocolate Syrup?  I remember as a kid the guy in the open back truck with the refillable seltzer bottles and the bottles of U-Bet.  I still have the pump that you could get with the bottle.

In our house, it was mainly Bosco or Cocoa Marsh, but my mom loved her Ovaltine.

I don't know, it seemed to mix better with warmed milk, and that is what we got at bedtime in the winter. The syrups were mostly used in cold milk.

I seem to recall two different flavors, Original Malt and Chocolate. We always had the original.

There was Nestle Quick off and on, but it wasn't a big favorite.
