PA: Pottsville and Schuylkill County

Long weekend in Pottsville coming up. There's not much of note in the area, I know, aside from the candy and cake places, but any tips are welcome, at all levels of price and formality. Dutch Kitchen in Frackville is on the list for a breakfast. We tried the Nutty Pear not long ago for our "fancy" night; this time, Greystone. Is there "tavern pizza" fairly nearby, as in closer than Hazleton?

Try the Pottsville Pizzeria for a different (sort of like tavern) but very good pizza. Roma has just opened an Italian restaurant right next to their pizza shop and it is very good. Also try a Coney burger at Coney Island. The burger are cooked in onions and then topped with the onions and chili sauce I recommend the Coney cheeseburger with everything and ketchup, but that just my favorite. The Coney dogs have mustard, raw onions and chili sauce. Jerry

There was a great seafood place near Reading, called The Clam Barn, perhaps. Or, maybe the Crab Barn. I just remember it as a great seafood place. carl reitz
