Paluso's Pizzeria - Charlotte, NC

Walking into Paluso's Pizzeria off of Johnston Rd. in Charlotte is really quite refreshing. The first thing that you notice, besides the awesome aroma emanating from the kitchen which is in plain sight, is the series of New York themed posters on the wall and the paper towel rolls sitting beside the five or six tables lining the left wall of the store- a good sign indeed, hopefully indicitative of the greasy pizza we were about to consume.

The menu is fairly slim but consists of all of the standard quick Italian food. The menu includes speciality pizzas which range in price from $10.95 to $18.95 and include a Hawaiian Pie, Veggie Pie, Meat Lovers and the "Godfather Supreme" which boasts pepperoni, ground beef, Italian sausage, smoked ham, bacon, green peppers, onions, mushrooms and black olives on top of their homemade pizza sauce and mozzarella. A regular pie is $8.95 for a 12" and $1.00 for each additional topping, the 16" version of the tasty pie is $10.95 and $1.50 for any of the twenty-three additional toppings available. Pizza is also available by the slice for $2.00 or $2.50 a slice for any of the speciality pizzas. The pizza is great, with the crust being slightly blackened and very crispy, and the cheese melts with the toppings creating an awesome aromatic and delicious eating experience. The use of high quality toppings and their homemade sauce definitely comes through with every crispy bite.

Paluso's also offers wings in quantities in 10, 20, 30 and 50 at competitive prices. The wings have a nice crispy texture and are available dripping in BBQ, garlic, mild, medium, hot, and 'X-Hot' sauces. In addition to the wings and pizza Paluso's offers 'hot torpedos', calzones, plates of pasta and fresh salads.

The menu is pulled together with the standard appetizers, french fries, onion rings, breaded mushrooms, chicken tenders and what must be a fairly hefty conglomeration of all of the sides called the Sampler. If you are looking for excellent pizza at competitive prices, look no further.
