I don't understand why the pizza houses (at least the chains) offer appetizers, bread sticks and desserts that are made from dough when you're already carbing out on the dough that makes up the pizza crust. When I order pizza and they suggest bread sticks, I automatically think, "Are you kidding?"

i still love the .99 cheapo frozen pizzas, i think they are awesome! nothing better then coming in and throwing one of those in the microwave, fold it in half and you have a pizza taco, lol

I used to install telephone service for a CLEC in the DC area, one of the sales people sold service to about 15 Papa Johns, all owned by one individual. I had the opportunity to work in the prep area's of all 15 (the phone systems were located there), two were actually in DC the rest spread out across the NOVA area. If you saw what I've seen you would never order Papa John's again.....could be that it was just this guys franchises, but I doubt it....I would never order a Papa John's pizza......I'm not going to go into details but suffice to say that they were all dumps, it's no wonder that a previous poster got food poisoning......

Like all chains, it varies by location or franchisee. The Papa John's that serves me gets consistently good health scores and a 91 on their most recent inspection last week.

I've had a couple of bad pizzas from one specific location, but over the years, the pizzas I've ordered from them in several cities have been excellent. Yesterday's large Spicy Italian was excellent, also.
