Peanut Butter Crackers - Thu, 06/18/09 11:54 AM ( #1 )
My favorite is Lays Toastchee, they are a great snack on the golf course or sitting by the pool with my book of the day, when I go on vacation I always take a big box from Costco, any other Peanut Butter Cracker fans here, what's your favorite brand?

I've always preferred Lance PB crackers but the Lays are good also.  Tom's is probably my least favorite.  The only Tom's product I like is their BBQ potato chips.

I like them both.

Don't buy them at home.

I always get mine at gas stations when taking a road trip.

It's a must.

I like them. Peter Pan sells a version that is awful. They threw a bunch of sugar in the PB.

I like the Mr Peanut brand. Not available in all locations- but if you find them give them a try. Lance's are good also- in fact, many years ago, I opened a little package and there were two crackers together, but alas, no PB- so I took the crackers, in their original package and sent them back to the mfg- lo and behold, about 6 weeks later, I get a letter with a sincere apology and along with that coupons for free product, plus info saying that they were sending ( via UPS) a box of all of their products.  Had them sent to my job and my workmates and I ate snacks for free for about a week!

This thread caused me to start thinking about an issue with peanut butter crackers.  "How can you have an issue with them?" you might ask.  I grew up eating Lance Toast Chee (commonly called "Nabs," at least where I lived in NC) and still like them.  For some reason the ones I buy here in NY (same brand name) don't taste as good as the ones from NC.  I thought that maybe the product had changed for the worse because of some cost-cutting aka new-and-improved product talk, but I found that ones I bought in NC still taste the same as I remember from my childhood.  I haven't done a lot of research, but perhaps Lance makes the crackers in various locations around the country with accompanying differences in product.  Just a thought that I'll have to investigate.  Wondering if anyone else has noticed a difference around the country.

Hello All,
I love peanut butter crackers...or any
cracker that has cheese or whatever for a good snack.
Most brands are a good fix to a hunger-pang.
I just wish they had more salt on the crackers and
thicker fillings in the middle.
I really like cream-cheese and chives.
Take Care,
Fieldthistle

You know, I could have sworn I'd eaten Lay's brand.  THEY DON'T  MAKE THEM!  Um sorry, I'm quite certain they don't anyway.....have had the Austin brand also, Publix sells them.  Still prefer LANCE though.  I'd also like a bit more salt on the crackers.

Haven't seen them in years, but I used to like a bacon / cheese cracker that I believe was make by Lance, if I recall correctly.
