As soon as I read how that kid insisted that peanut butter be applied to almost everything, I thought "Hmmm, he must be a 'roly-poly, eatin corn and taters, hungry ever minute night and day".... Roly-poly, gnawin on a biscuit, long as he can chew it it's ok....'" Damned if I wasn't right.

Reminds me of myself when I was a kid. When I was three years old, my mother pinned a note on my shirt that read, "Do not feed this boy." I'm serious. I lived in a large apartment complex with 24 units and two large enclosed court yards. When my sister was born, my mother allowed me the freedom to roam the complex during the day. The neighbors were always inviting me in and feeding me. My grand parents used to take me shopping on Maxwell Street for my clothes. I wore the "Husky" size back then. That's where I was introduced to my first Vienna Beef Maxwell Street Polish. Those were great times. At first, I thought I was going to retch at the thought, but then I realized, I love sesame noodles, Thai chicken satays with peanut sauce, and other savory dishes with a peanut "butter" sauce, so who knows? Maybe this will work out to be a new taste trend.

Rosco's Big Dog in Hartford, CT, has been serving a hot dog with hickory smoked bacon, shredded cheddar chesse and skippy peanut butter (called a peanut mutter) since January 2006.

For some reason this thread is reminding me of an old SNL rip-off of the Burger King "Have It Your Way" ads. "Would you blow your nose on the bun, please?"

HiHat, that "mutter" sounds good. Oh, maybe I would leave off the PB? The "Skunk Dog" Ashphalt????? But who knows, intersestig! Anyway, my grandzillas make PB hot dog wraps using flour tortillas. But, they have been known to put PB on almost anything, and wrap almost anything in a flour tortilla! Joe

Take a hot egg roll. Place it on a toasted hot dog bun. Spread some peanut butter on the hot egg roll. The peanut butter will begin to melt. The whole thing, bite after bite, goes down good.

There's a place in Missouri (Sedalia, I think) that puts peanut butter on their "Gooberburgers". Never tried one, but I hear they're wildly popular there.

That would be the Wheel Inn in Sedalia. One of three old drive-ins in town. Keith

I have been eating peanut butter on hot dogs since I was a kid. It makes a boiled hot dog on a store bought roll taste better with ketchup and pickles. Then again my Dad introduced me to the peanut butter hamburger and I loved it so it was natural progression to the hot dogs.

My 50 yr old best friend has been eating only peanut butter on her hot dogs for as long as I've known her (about 20 years now).. I always thought she was nuts... but I'd probably try one of these sausages at least once.. who knows...might be good.

I wonder if the butcher I frequent won't put it in brats. He puts everything else in brats already, so WTH? He could market them as Thai. . .

I know its been mentioned here, but I ate a hot dog with Bacon, cheddar cheese and peanut butter at Rosco's Big Dog in Hartford, CT. It was surprisingly good. I wouldn't get one every time I go, but a once in a while treat will do. BTW - Their dogs are incredible.

My childhood on the otherhand had my mother finding excuses for my thinness - then she started putting butter on everysingle thing I ate.....

Not the same, but I've been enjoying hotdogs with hot peanut sauce at Souldog in Poughkeepsie for the past year - I love them! Cheers, John
